Winter School “Explorer le vivant sur la scène musicale jeune public”

First Winter School of the Graduate+ ARTS

Event in French on the 11, 12 and 13 of December 2025

The Graduate + ARTS organized its first Winter School on December 11, 12 and 13 dealing with:how does creation for young audiences address, on stage, the question of living things?
The ARTS institute and   RamDam, réseau national des musiques jeune public, partnered to explore stories from life on the young audience music scene. Backed by the l’ANR-SFRI (Agence Nationale de la Recherche, Structuration de la Formation par la Recherche dans les Initiatives d’Excellence), those days were made of a workshop, conferences, artist testimonials, scientific talks and debate time. Two shows were also offered to participants on December 11 and 12:

Lozen, conte vidéographique et musical en territoire Apache from the “Association à la Recherche d’un Folklore Imaginaire” on December 11 at the Esadse Auditorium
and
Conférence dérapante “Naître animal, être humain” from Jean-Baptiste de Panafieu disrupted by the Compagnie du singe debout on December 12 at the Maison de l’Université in the Tréfilerie Campus.

At the crossroads of scientific research, artistic creation and cultural expertise, this Winter School gathered researchers, artists, students and professionals of childhood and culture to lead a collective reflection on the aesthetic heritages, artistic representations, common stories of living things on which musical productions for young audiences are based – or resisted.

The first assessment of these three days lists the registration of more than a hundred people for all the events having, in particular, institutional origin: the UJM, the University of Paris 8, the IESA arts & culture, the CNRS, the Nuits de Fourvière festival, the PREAC, the Lyon Opera and the ESADSE. Twenty-two speakers and performers participated in this Winter School, including three researchers and Belgian and Swiss artists.
